I was having a hard time visualizing how these machines would work until I saw this animation:

(each of those dots is one atom. the way in which the atoms interact and bond creates a machine, in this case a stepper gear the size of a large molecule. by linking nanomechanical devices together with nanocomputers you could create a robot the size of a bacterial cell which could perform any number of functions)

So basically, the physical world will take on many of the attributes of the internet. Physical structures will be able to be ‘programmed’ at the molecular level. Portable nanofactories will be a household applicance. No, scratch that… portable nanofactories will be THE household appliance. You can download a nano blueprint and the machine will construct whatever physical device that blueprint describes. They estimate that the Library of Congress will be able to be stored on a computer the size of a sugar cube, or that they could construct materials thousands of times stronger than steel at one hundredth the weight. Nanomachines could be introduced into your body to target and destroy cancer cells (or any disease vector really). We could potentially upgrade our own bodies in ways we can’t even imagine.

Either this is the next big evolutionary stage in human existance or it’s the apocalypse.

First up: the Zombootie Kink Remix is off to PureFocus Mastering for it’s final work! I will release a download link for that as soon as I get it back.

Secondly: as soon as I get the Zombootie remix back from mastering it’s going straight into my new mix. Once that last piece of the puzzle is in there I should have minimal tweaking to do before I can release the mix as well. I’m anticipating the mix should be released this weekend or early next week!

Third: while I was cleaning out my parent’s basement over the weekend I found numerous boxes with old rave mementos (and about a metric ton of filth-encrusted candy bracelets and necklaces) In amongst the chaos I found lots of flyers, VIP passes and photos from numerous parties and events I have played at all over the world. It is my intention to scan those in and post them up over the next few weeks. I’d like to have a dedicated images section here on the website and I’m sure many of those pics will make it into my Facebook, Myspace and Purerave galleries.

So lots of stuff coming up over the next little while. Stay tuned for goodies!

so i checked online and replacing the headphones is going to cost around $45 if I buy the iPod ones. best buy has a sale on these SkullCandy ones so i’m probably going to pick those up on my lunch. they’re on sale for $10 and they can’t be that much worse than the iPod ones. plus if i remember correctly they are the ones which come with a protective plastic case which will be handy for ensuring that they don’t become another quick snack.

so last night Guy was in the studio. his new track is sounding pretty awesome so far. i’ve got a lot of work to put in on the bassline to get it sounding how we want it though. i’m hoping i can set aside some time to work on the weekend but it’s looking fairly unlikely unless i don’t sleep at all. also, my zombootie remix is almost ready for mastering and i’m hoping to get that sorted soon so i can finish up my new studio mix. i’ve got two other new tracks in the pipeline, one which is almost finished and one which is mostly just in the idea stage at the moment. once i get this mix finished up i will be free to concentrate on producing again and those should come along fairly quickly.

the mix is coming along well. i don’t know when i’ll be able to work on it next though. tonight Guy Michael is in the studio, tomorrow night we are possibly having guests over, and this weekend’s schedule is TBD because apprently there is an impending storm of doom brewing for saturday.

all i know is this winter is dragging on and i’m getting a bit tired of the snow (although i have appreciated the weather more than the rain in scotland for sure). i need to get some natural sunlight and fresh air that doesn’t freeze my face.
